Assistant Project Manager, Land Development

The Viera Company is looking for an Assistant Project Manager, Land Development to help drive the successful completion of projects that shape our communities. In this role, you will support the Senior Manager of Land Development by managing project timelines, budgets, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed project plans and schedules, collaborate with the Senior Manager of Land Development on budget development, and manage milestone delivery by coordinating efforts with internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
  2. Maintain and manage project documentation, including permits, contracts, and meeting notes, and prepare and distribute project status reports, updates, and meeting agendas to stakeholders.
  3. Facilitate the permitting and approval process by obtaining required documents and working with local agencies.
  4. Perform site visits to track progress, identify potential issues, and assist with inspections while addressing on-site challenges in collaboration with stakeholders.
  5. Communicate with internal and external clients, contractors, and team members to address questions and resolve concerns.
  6. Recognize and escalate potential risks or challenges to the Senior Manager, Land Development, and create procedures that support problem-solving to ensure seamless project execution.
  7. Work closely with the Senior VP on assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in land development, homebuilding, construction, or project management.
  3. Valid Driver’s License required.
  4. Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, but not required.
