Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial and industrial construction projects from $500K to $40M across South Carolina. You’ll coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to keep programs on time and within budget, while ensuring safe delivery.

Working alongside seasoned teams, you’ll manage procurement, submittals, cost tracking and documentation in Procore, review schedules, and assist with client billing and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial construction experience, including 2+ years as a Project Engineer or equivalent.
• Experience managing project documentation, costs, schedules and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in Procore required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Experience with subcontractor scoping, bid levelling and procurement preferred.
• Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning, procurement and subcontractor buyout.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, drawings and document control through Procore.
• Monitor project budgets, committed costs, forecasts and change orders.
• Assist with project scheduling, trade coordination and look-ahead programmes.
• Review subcontractor pay applications and support monthly client billing.
• Coordinate with Superintendents to monitor progress, quality and safety.
• Maintain communication with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
• Support project meetings, reporting, punch lists and final closeout.
• Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to Project Engineers.
