Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager in safety, planning, scheduling, cost reporting and budgeting for industrial construction projects in Crown Point, IN. This role involves cost tracking, vendor coordination, and regular project updates.

You will assist in proposals, estimates, and change orders while ensuring resources align with schedule and budget. Travel to project sites is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 1–4 years of Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related experience in an Industrial construction environment.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing systems and processes for proper accounting, cost reporting and budgeting.
• Assist in tracking key performance and financial metrics to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Assist in preparation of proposals and estimates, including drawing take-offs.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to establish job structure: safety, scheduling, cost codes, budgeting, etc.
• Assist in hand-off from estimating to field supervision.
• Coordinate with purchasing on material orders and submittals.
• Travel to project sites on a regular basis and provide weekly progress updates.
• Assist with change orders, quotes, and month-end financial reports.
• Support schedule development and maintain progress with project management.
