Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a talented Project Accountant who will manage the financial health of construction projects and provide accounting support to operations.

This role focuses on cost tracking, budgets and revenue reporting, with strong GAAP knowledge and analytical skills. You will collaborate with project managers, process invoices and change orders in JD Edwards, ensure timely forecasting and close scrutiny of variances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years financial experience in a construction environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze data and produce clear reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial health of projects by tracking costs and budgets.
• Provide financial guidance to project managers.
• Prepare monthly forecast reports and variance analyses.
• Investigate revenue and profit variances for accurate reporting.
• Process invoices, payments and change orders.
• Ensure contract terms and billing schedules compliance.
• Monitor accounts receivable and assist with past due invoices.
• Coordinate project set ups and close outs.
