Job summary

Higgins Group, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support field operations for the Commercial Walls & Ceilings team. You will help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while assisting with workforce planning and productivity.

The role requires strong leadership and the ability to forecast manpower needs, with a focus on maintaining Higgins Group’s quality standards across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years commercial drywall and metal stud framing construction experience.
• Superintendent or foreman management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial blueprints, management software and estimating.
• Out-of-town travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides support with daily production activities across multiple commercial projects.
• Assists the Project Manager to align labor, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor job progress and proactively address production delays.
• Conduct regular job site visits and field audits.
• Assist with hiring, performance evaluations, and corrective coaching.
• Manage labor budgets for projects.
• Monitor productivity, hours, and production rates.
• Identify cost risks early and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with leadership to maintain profitability.
• Review blueprints, schedule, specifications, and scope requirements.
• Enforce company and OSHA safety standards.
