Job summary

Higgins Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Wichita, KS to support field production operations for the Commercial Walls & Ceilings team. You will help with workforce planning, labor productivity, and ensuring projects align with budget, schedule, and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership and the ability to forecast manpower, while upholding Higgins Group's safety and quality standards on multiple commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years commercial drywall and metal stud framing construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial blueprints, management software and estimating.
• Out-of-town travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides support with daily production activities across multiple commercial projects.
• Assists the Project Manager to align labor, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor job progress and proactively address production delays.
• Conduct regular job site visits and field audits.
• Assist with hiring, performance evaluations, and corrective coaching.
• Manage labor budgets for projects.
• Monitor productivity, hours, and production rates.
• Identify cost risks early and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with leadership to maintain profitability.
• Review blueprints, schedule, specifications, and scope requirements Enforce company and OSHA safety standards.
