Job summary

Higgins Group, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking a skilled Drywall and Metal Framing Carpenter to independently install metal stud framing, drywall systems, and ACT on commercial sites. You will read plans, plan daily work, and lead field crews to deliver high-quality work safely and on schedule.

Responsibilities include coordinating with project teams, maintaining equipment, training journeyman and apprentices, and ensuring quality standards and safety policies are followed at all times.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of interior and exterior metal stud framing experience.
• Ability to read plans and manage layout independently.
• Proven ability to lead crews and manage production schedules.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Install metal stud framing, drywall, and acoustical ceiling systems per plans and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and project documents.
• Plan daily and weekly work to meet project schedules and production goals.
• Maintain production pace while ensuring quality workmanship.
• Follow all jobsite safety standards and company policies.
• Lead, manage, and develop field crews on commercial job sites.
• Identify and communicate potential issues before they impact production.
• Train and mentor journeyman and apprentice-level team members.
