Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Advanced Manufacturing to support the Project Manager in day-to-day operations on the job. You’ll log contracts, track submittals, price change orders, and coordinate with subcontractors while ensuring compliance and safety.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in related roles, and a mindset for continuous improvement in advanced manufacturing contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or completion of Suffolk’s Career Start Program as a Project Engineer or Project Engineer with another firm
• 2+ years of related experience; Advanced Manufacturing experience preferable
• Ability to manage and embrace change; adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems
• Computer literate with good communication skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Log-in and track Contracts & Purchase Orders
• Price, approve and/or reject Project Change Orders, Submittals, and respond to RFIs
• Log-in, track and review shop drawings and submittals and respond to RFIs
• Request Insurance Certificates from subcontractors for compliance review
• Create and update Vendor and Subcontractor Contact Log
• Price and create Proposed Change Orders
• Submit, track response and issue RFIs
• Manage building permit process and resolve related issues
• Plan revision submissions to municipality
• Coordinate with Company Attorneys on contracts, Insurance Certificates, discrepancies & modifications
• Liaise with subcontractors to resolve disputes and questions about work and progress
• Assist with Project Schedule Narratives
• Take Weekly Video and distribute to General Manager
• Create Weekly Meeting Minutes – Owner’s and Subcontractors meetings
• Set up coordination meetings with Subcontractors
• Distribute revised drawings to Subcontractors
• Write up descriptions for Purchase Orders and Subcontract Requests
• Obtain and track Subcontractor warranty certificates
• Create close-out manuals
• Conduct OSHA 10/30 or HAZWOPR and other safety trainings
