Job summary

True Red is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support water and wastewater construction initiatives. You will work with senior PMs to keep projects on schedule and on budget, coordinating with owners, engineers, subcontractors and vendors throughout the delivery lifecycle.

The role requires 5+ years in construction, a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent, and experience with Primavera P6. Expect growth, a strong safety culture, and opportunities to lead aspects of project administration.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction experience.
  • Proven experience delivering water treatment and/or wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Experience managing or supporting projects with $5M+ in contract value.
  • A 4-year engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling software.
  • Strong understanding of construction, engineering, project finance and commercial management.
  • Ability to understand plans, specifications, contracts and project requirements.
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management and delivery of multiple water/wastewater construction projects.
  • Create, update and manage project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar software.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
  • Assist with project billing, schedules of values and cash-flow management.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, engineers, owners and other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare, track and manage submittals, material approvals and certifications.
  • Assist with change orders, including documentation, pricing and cost analysis.
  • Monitor labor productivity, crew sizes, production rates and equipment requirements.
  • Review project costs and maintain accurate forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Expedite procurement and ensure materials and equipment arrive in line with the construction schedule.
  • Maintain accurate project files, drawings, records and production documentation.
  • Review and process vendor and subcontractor invoices.
  • Assist with subcontract and purchase agreement administration.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, codes and engineering requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day project management and field operations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and help ensure company safety policies are followed.
  • Support and develop junior team members while contributing to a collaborative project environment.

An established ENR Top 400 contractor is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its Civil & Environmental Division, supporting the delivery of major water treatment and wastewater treatment projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional who wants to take the next step in their career, working alongside experienced Project Managers while taking ownership of key commercial, scheduling, procurement, engineering and project coordination activities.

What You'll Be Doing:

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping projects on schedule, on budget and moving efficiently from preconstruction through completion.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for someone who understands water and wastewater construction from the ground up and is ready to take on greater project responsibility.

You'll need:

  • 5+ years of construction experience, with significant experience in project management.
  • Proven experience delivering water treatment and/or wastewater treatment plant projects.
