Job summary

Xavier University’s School of Education seeks a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Instruction in Human Development & Educational Foundations starting Fall 2027. You will teach foundational undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to advising, accreditation, and program support.

The role emphasizes service within the School of Education and collaboration with the Field Coordinator, with a mission-aligned emphasis on Jesuit Catholic identity.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Education or a closely related field.
• Valid professional educator license; able to be licensed in Ohio within the first year.
• Minimum 5 years’ related K-12 teaching experience while holding a professional educator license.
• Excellent organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team within School of Education programs.
• Understanding and commitment to Xavier University’s Jesuit Catholic mission.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses that serve as core requirements across the School of Education's licensure and Master’s of Education programs.
• Advise students across multiple programs regarding course sequencing and requirements.
• Maintain student records and data, ensuring students are meeting foundational course requirements, and support state and national accreditation.
• Assist with enrollment and recruitment efforts as needed.
