Job summary

AEG is seeking an Assistant Practice Manager to lead and support teams delivering exceptional patient care and achieving business results. This hands-on role develops leadership capability while managing daily operations on the practice floor.

You will coordinate patient flow, service delivery, and cross-functional tasks, collaborating with the Practice Manager and Optometrist to optimize exam flow and team readiness. This position offers growth and hands-on leadership development.

Qualifications

• Experience in optical/healthcare retail or comparable service/operations.
• 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Ability to learn multiple practice positions to support patient care.
• Strong communication and organization skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Practice Manager with daily operations and patient flow.
• Work on the practice floor assisting across functions to support patient care.
• Assist with onboarding, coaching, and team development.
• Prepare for patient care by ensuring readiness and open/close routines.
• Communicate daily priorities and service standards to the team.
• Partner with Optometrist to support exam flow and provider needs.
• Serve as designated contact in the Practice Manager’s absence.
