Job summary

AEG is seeking an Assistant Practice Manager to support daily operations, patient flow, and team coordination on the practice floor. You will learn multiple practice functions and help ensure a smooth patient experience while developing leadership skills.

This hands-on role emphasizes accountability with compassion, collaboration with the Practice Manager and Optometrist, and readiness for expanded responsibility over time.

Qualifications

• Optical, optometric, healthcare, retail, hospitality, or comparable service/operations experience required.
• Experience in one or more optical or practice functions preferred, such as patient care coordination, optometric technician support, optical sales, opticianry, clinical support, or front desk operations.
• 1–2 years of leadership, lead, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to learn practice systems, technology, and workflow tools quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily practice operations, patient flow, team coordination, and service execution.
• Work on the practice floor and support multiple practice functions to ensure patient care and operational coverage.
• Learn and support key practice roles, including patient care coordination, optical sales and service, and front desk operations.
• Support assigned areas such as front desk flow, optical floor support, and clinician workflows.
• Communicate daily priorities, role expectations, and service standards to team members.
• Partner with the Practice Manager and Optometrist to support exam flow and patient handoffs.
• Reinforce patient-centered service behaviors and timely follow-up.
• Assist with onboarding, coaching, and training reinforcement as requested.
