Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support PMO activities on Load Bank projects, assisting with quotes, execution, and closeout while coordinating schedules and ERP data to ensure on-time, within-budget outcomes. Field liaison duties include occasional site walks and vendor coordination.

The role requires 5+ years in power distribution, formal electrical training, strong communication skills, and travel ~5%.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in the power distribution/generation field.
• Formal Electrical Training.
• PM Certification preferred.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel overnight ~5% of the time.
• Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all SBR policies and procedures.
• Attend project/PMO meetings to document discussions and actions.
• Review RFQs for completeness and urgency; ask questions to gather missing details.
• Assist sales and operations with level 1–2 service requests.
• Review project designs, schedules, and drawings for errors and clarity.
• Assist PMs with logistics RFQs, planning, and execution.
• Enter and manage project data in the ERP system (quotes, orders, POs, etc.).
• Update PMO project tracker with status changes from PM/OSR.
• Submit profitability analysis requests as required.
• Review and comment on project proposals; generate OPS and PUN.
• Obtain leadership approvals as needed.
• Review HALT reports for vendor invoicing.
• Generate purchase orders as approved.
• Support budget logs and change orders; monitor transactions.
• Schedule freight deliveries and manage drivers/resources.
• Conduct site walks/visits as needed.
• Assess equipment needs and suggest alternatives with Fleet Manager.
• Create new project folders and templates; retain key documents.
• Maintain deadlines, submittals, and deliverables.
• Draft customer responses and track requests with PMO/OSR.
• Provide information to OAA, OSR, and Technicians for timely communication.
• Assist with billing documentation and PMO monitoring tools.
• Support Fleet Management with resource planning.
• Learn cross-training and provide coverage as requested.
• Engage in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
