The Assistant Outdoor Educator plays a vital role in supporting academic courses taught by the Outdoor and Community Recreation Education program by assisting with various aspects of course delivery, activity supervision, and equipment maintenance. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students with a passion for the outdoors to gain practical experience in outdoor leadership, outdoor education, and environmental stewardship. Job responsibilities will include assisting in planning and organizing outdoor and adventure activities, assisting with equipment preparation, care, and inventory management. The person in this role will be expected to interact positively with students to promote outdoor activities, encourage participation, maintain safety, and promote environmental responsibility.
