Weber State University is seeking an Early Childhood Teaching Assistant for a 9-month, 40-hour-per-week position based in Ogden, UT. The role supports classroom teaching, planning, and provides learning experiences for children aged 1-5 under the supervision of a mentor teacher.
The position follows the academic calendar (mid-August through May) and requires an Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Early Childhood, at least one year of relevant experience, and basic computer skills.

This is a 9 month position, mid August through May, following WSU’s academic schedule. This is a 40 hours a week full-time position. Assist with all aspects of classroom teaching, planning, following NAEYC accreditation standards, and leading the classroom in the Mentor teacher’s absence. Implement learning experiences for children 1-5 years old. Implement classroom schedules and routines, inside and outside, including lunch, snack and nap/rest time. Assemble instructional materials as directed by the teacher, lead small and whole groups and 1-on-1 lessons as directed by the teacher. Implement child guidance strategies using the same emphasis & techniques as the teacher. Conduct observations, collect data, maintain records. Correspond and meet with family members under the direction of the teacher. Attend appropriate in-service and professional development opportunities. Routine cleaning of classroom and materials and provide health services as assigned. Perform duties in accordance with the MSL Children’s School’s policies and procedures and in accordance with the NAEYC Standards, Utah licensing, and Utah State Competencies. Perform additional duties, when needed, as directed by the teacher and/or director. This position reports to the program director and receives guidance from the classroom Mentor teachers.
Knowledge of NAEYC standards, state licensing requirements, and Child Plus Software is preferred.
