Valcourt Group in New York City seeks an Assistant Operations Manager for its commercial construction division. This role blends field insight with financial discipline to drive project coordination and closeout.

You will manage WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, change orders, billing, and ERP-based project controls while coordinating with PMs, superintendents, and accounting. OTE around $150K with growth into senior ops leadership on high-profile NYC projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in commercial construction or specialty contracting.
• Experience with WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, forecasting, and financial project management.
• Solid understanding of contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, POs, billing, and closeout.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project startup, scheduling, manpower, materials, and closeout.
• Support WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, forecasting, and project financial reporting.
• Maintain contract values, change orders, billing, costs-to-complete, and margins.
• Review project profitability, committed costs, open POs, and forecasts.
• Manage project setup and WBS configuration within the ERP system.
• Coordinate purchasing, work orders, project costing, and month-end financial activities.
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, POs, and closeout documentation.
• Assist with monthly billing, pay applications, SOV, retainage, and invoice backup.
• Coordinate with GCs, owners, architects, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Support material procurement, deliveries, inspections, site access, and field coordination.
• Track lien waivers, insurance, certified payroll, safety docs, warranties.
• Help ensure projects remain organized, financially accurate, and on schedule through closeout.
