The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is the second-in-command at the hotel. The AGM assists the General Manager in managing hotel operations according to brand standards and values, ensuring a friendly and professional environment. The AGM is responsible for monitoring social media reports and acts as the hotel leader in the absence of the GM, upholding the values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excitement at all times.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Reports directly to the General Manager and supervises all hotel staff in cooperation with the GM.

Primary Duties Include

  • Ensuring Guest Survey scores are above brand system averages and implementing corrective actions when needed
  • Supervising guest service quality with the GSM and GSRs
  • Collaborating with the Executive Housekeeper, GSM, and Chief Engineer to address issues promptly
  • Participating in hiring and termination processes
  • Engaging with guests during meals and events
  • Involving in all candidate interviews for hotel positions

Other duties include supporting various departments, leading new staff orientation, assisting with payroll and HR tasks, conducting property inspections, supporting sales and marketing, and ensuring compliance with corporate requests.

Qualifications

  • College degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent
  • At least two years of hotel experience as a sales manager, guest service manager, or operations manager

Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing all hotel staff, with reporting lines as specified.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to drive, walk, speak, hear, see, and perform moderate physical activities; proficient in English communication

Additional requirements include meeting all brand and corporate training deadlines, making operational decisions in the GM's absence, and achieving financial and service goals.
