Role Overview
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is the second-in-command at the hotel, assisting the GM in managing operations according to brand standards and values. The AGM oversees social media reports, acts as the hotel in the GM's absence, and embodies the core values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excitement.
Primary Duties
- Ensure guest survey scores are above the brand average, implementing improvements as needed
- Supervise guest service quality with the GSM and GSRs
- Coordinate with the Executive Housekeeper, GSM, and Chief Engineer to resolve issues promptly
- Assist in hiring and termination processes
- Engage with guests during breakfast and meetings
- Participate in interviewing candidates for hotel positions
Additional Responsibilities
- Support other departments as needed
- Lead new associate orientation and training
- Assist with payroll, HR, and labor management
- Collaborate on scheduling, training, supplies, and process improvements
- Conduct daily property inspections
- Assist with sales, marketing, budgeting, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with corporate requests
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- College degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent
- Minimum two years of hotel experience in sales, guest service, or operations management
Supervisory & Physical Demands
- Supervise all hotel staff reporting to the GM
- Must be able to perform physical activities like driving, walking, and speaking
- Must communicate professionally in English, both oral and written
