Job description

City Fitness is looking for a highly motivated and responsible Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations at a single location. This leadership role supports both staff and members, providing meaningful, hands-on work experience for those seeking growth within the industry. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and supervising front desk, juice bar, and janitorial staff; addressing membership issues; and managing payroll, inventory, and budgets. The position reports directly to the Operations Manager and is an integral part of the club's leadership team.

This role requires regularly scheduled weekend and evening hours.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a GED or High School Equivalency
  • 1-3 years of experience supervising and developing staff
  • Food Service-Safe certification is preferred but not required for hire; it may be required depending on the location
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to tell a dad joke and deliver it with enthusiasm

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Assistant Operations Manager acts as second-in-command to front-line, retail, juice bar, and cleaning staff, supporting the Operations Manager and assisting with daily departmental responsibilities.

Position Type and Hours

This is a full-time, onsite position requiring at least 40 hours per week, including evening and weekend hours.

Travel

The role involves moderate intercity travel.
