Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (RN, CRN, CNL) for the Family Birthing Center in New Britain, CT. Nights shift; hours vary. This RN role supervises patient care, clinical staff, and daily unit operations to deliver high-quality family-centered care.

Responsibilities include staffing, payroll, scheduling, and ensuring a safe, collaborative environment while supporting performance improvement initiatives and professional development.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Existing incumbents must obtain BSN within 3 years.
• 2 years of acute care nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations.
• Oversee daily department operations including off-shift and weekend supervision of nursing and non-licensed staff.
• Manage resources, payroll, and colleague schedules to ensure efficient operations.
• Support a safe, therapeutic unit environment and participate in Performance Improvement work.
