Job summary

Ascension in Nashville, TN seeks a Nurse Manager for the Saint Thomas Midtown ICU. You will oversee nursing department operations, ensure clinical objectives are implemented, and uphold high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have ICU experience and a track record in leadership, staff development and quality initiatives. This role includes collaboration with department leadership to maintain up-to-date processes and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN licensure in Tennessee and BLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Experience in ICU settings preferred and management experience is advantageous.

• Delegate appropriate duties to clinical staff based on their assessed skills and abilities, maintaining proficiencies related to job functions and processes through ongoing monitoring of daily operations. Collaborate with department leadership to ensure processes are up to date and followed.
• Participate with ongoing quality initiatives, auditing projects and development of plans for improvement.
• Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
