Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking an experienced ICU RN to lead high-acuity operations in a Full-Time | Days setting. The role will focus on directing nursing resources, establishing efficient workflows, and delivering life-saving patient care in a fast-paced Critical Care Unit.

You will mentor an elite clinical team, implement evidence-based policies, and partner with physicians and families to optimize outcomes in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• RN credential from the Tennessee Board of Nursing before hire date.
• ALS within 6 months of hire date if working in adult critical care.

Responsibilities

• Elevate Care Standards: Implement rigorous quality monitoring and evidence-based policies to maintain strict regulatory compliance and optimize patient outcomes in high‑pressure situations.
• Foster Collaborative Excellence: Act as a vital link between physicians, families, and staff to manage complex care plans and maintain a supportive, high‑satisfaction environment for patients and providers alike.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted. Required if working in an adult critical care setting.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
