Job summary

Jackson College seeks an Assistant Soccer Coach to support the head coach in recruiting, instructing and monitoring student‑athletes in soccer, in accordance with NJCAA and MCCAA rules. This role helps develop season plans and scheduling while supervising volunteer coaches and athletes.

The position emphasizes sportsmanship, coordination of practices and travel, and aligning with college policies. CPR/First Aid and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in PE/Health Promotion or related field preferred.
• Three+ years coaching experience at college/high school/club level.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assists head coach in recruitment of prospective student‑athletes.
• Recruit top local athletes considering athletic and academic performance.
• Submit recruit lists for grant approval per college budget and athletic policy.
• Assist in developing scheduling and season plan.
• Supervise volunteer coaches and student‑athletes in academics, practice and games.
• Foster sportsmanship and fair play.
• Coordinate practices, games and team travel.
• Comply with NJCAA and MCCAA rules and college policies.
• Promote the College image and support student community service.
