Job summary

Jackson College invites applications for an Assistant Coach position for Men’s Basketball. The role assists the head coach in recruiting, instruction, and monitoring student-athletes in accordance with NJCAA and MCCAA guidelines.

The incumbent will help recruit top local athletes, develop season plans, supervise volunteer coaches, and coordinate practices and travel while upholding college policies and promoting a positive image for the athletics program.

Qualifications

• Experience in college athletics or coaching environments.
• Knowledge of recruiting student-athletes and compliance is helpful.
• Familiarity with NJCAA and MCCAA rules is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
• Recruit top local athletes, considering athletic and academic performance.
• Submit list of recruits for grant approval per college budget and approvals.
• Assists in developing preliminary scheduling and season plans.
• Assists head coach in supervising volunteer coaches and student-athletes (academic, practice and games).
• Fosters sportsmanship and fair play.
• Assists in coordinating practices and team travel.
• Abides by NJCAA and MCCAA standards and regulations.
• Conforms to Athletic Department policies, including travel, scholarships, and PO processes.
• Fosters a positive image for the College and Athletic Department.
