Wilcox & Flegel Oil Co. is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily convenience store operations and staff development. You will lead shifts, ensure smooth service, and maintain a welcoming environment for customers.

Ideal candidates bring 1 year in retail or service with supervisory exposure and a degree in business or related field. The role emphasizes training, procedure adherence, and customer-first execution.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree with 1 year of successful experience in retail, food service, or customer service, with some supervisory experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or relevant field plus 2 years of successful experience in retail, food service, or customer service, with some supervisory experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong customer service, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Support: assist onboarding and training, supervise team members, provide feedback, and act as GM replacement when needed.
• Customer Service: model exceptional service, handle inquiries and resolve minor complaints, monitor satisfaction and promotions knowledge.
• Store Operations: maintain cleanliness, organize displays, manage stock levels and pricing, and follow daily checklists.
• Cash Management & Loss Prevention: assist with cash handling, balancing, and loss prevention.
• Safety & Compliance: uphold safety protocols and incident reporting, communicate issues to GM.
