Job summary

Johnny’s Markets in Michigan is seeking a Subway Assistant Manager to help the Manager run a 24/7 Subway restaurant at Johnny’s Markets. You will lead during second and third shifts, ensure policy adherence, and step in when the Subway Manager is away.

You’ll train staff, supervise the team, handle cash, ordering, and inventory, and maintain food quality and safety in a fast-paced retail environment. Join a community-focused, family-owned chain across Michigan and Northern Indiana.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills for interacting with staff, customers, supervisors and vendors.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, and email.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, count and make change.
• Willingness to work any area of the store and operate a computerized register.
• Comfort with gasoline and cleaning-product fumes; ability to work in a cooler at 20°F for short periods.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for work-related activities.
• High school degree or equivalent training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Subway Manager to keep the facility clean, safe, well-supplied and well-staffed.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve complaints promptly.
• Manage cash levels and assist with operating expenses and inventory control.
• Perform HR duties including training, scheduling and supervising team per policies and laws.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking and vendor checks.
• Follow franchise guidelines for pricing, displays and promotions.
• Rotate stock according to standards and report losses.
• Report maintenance, accidents, security issues and emergencies.
• When Manager is away, complete daily bookwork, deposits and cash handling.
