Job summary

Johnny’s Markets is seeking a Subway Assistant Manager for the Grand Rapids area. You’ll support the Subway Manager to keep the restaurant clean, safe, and staffed, and take charge during second and third shifts and during the Manager’s absence.

You’ll handle HR tasks, supervise the team, maintain stock, and ensure compliance with policies and laws. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Assist Subway Manager in keeping the facility clean, safe, well-supplied, and well-staffed.
• Set the bar for excellent customer service and address complaints promptly.
• Control and maintain cash levels and help manage operating expenses and inventory.
• Perform HR duties including training, scheduling, and supervising team per policies and laws.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and rotating stock; check in vendors.
• Follow franchise guidelines for pricing, displays, and promotions.
• Rotate food per franchise standards and report loss/spoilage.
• Report maintenance issues, accidents, security concerns, and emergencies.
• Complete daily bookwork, make bank deposits, and verify change when Manager is away.
