Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. The role involves helping with opening/closing, merchandising, and daily store functions to ensure a safe, friendly shopping experience.

You will work with Store Managers and Associates to uphold company standards, promote loss prevention, and maintain clean, well-organized sales floors and stockrooms in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform duties requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
