Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in running a fast‑paced drive‑in restaurant in Austin, TX. You will train staff, monitor operations, and ensure service quality in a clean, safe environment to delight every guest.

Responsibilities include directing team members, managing shifts, controlling inventory and costs, and handling opening/closing duties while upholding SONIC standards and appearance guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry level retail management experience.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Team / Crew Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Directs and assigns employees to ensure food service meets standards.
• Adheres to employee handbook, policies and practices.
• Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
• Monitors staffing, inventory and food cost; completes weekly inventory.
• Maintains records and required documentation.
• Reinforces customer service mindset and responds to guest requests.
