Job summary

The Country Club of Virginia, Inc. is seeking an energetic Assistant Manager for Cool Springs Café, our fast-casual dining venue on the Westhampton campus in Richmond, VA.

You will lead front-of-house operations, coach staff, and ensure exceptional member and guest experiences. The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced hospitality environment, with responsibilities including onboarding, scheduling, and service excellence, while upholding food safety standards and club policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience in hospitality, restaurant, or customer service environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Excellent hospitality and member service mindset.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with restaurant POS systems preferred.
• Private club, resort, country club, or upscale hospitality experience preferred.
• Food Safety Certification (ServSafe Manager or equivalent) preferred or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach front-of-house team members during daily operations.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development.
• Support scheduling and labor management.
• Deliver exceptional service and build positive relationships with members and guests.
• Serve as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate with culinary and other Club departments to ensure smooth service execution.
• Support inventory management, purchasing, cash handling, and operational controls.
• Assist with Club events, tournaments, and special programming.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and Club standards.
