Job summary

World Market in Illinois is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a high-performing team, drive sales and customer experience, and uphold brand standards daily.

In partnership with the Store Manager, you’ll recruit, develop, and coach staff, manage operations, merchandising, and safety, while delivering results in a fast-paced specialty retail environment. This role requires flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and physical ability to stand and lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of leadership experience in fast-paced specialty retail.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Proven leadership delivering results in customer experience and operational metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a customer-first selling culture and drive engagement, loyalty initiatives, visual standards, and brand values.
• Analyze business trends using available reporting to identify opportunities and take action.
• Recruit, develop and retain a high-performance, customer-focused team through training and performance management.
• Plan for and execute daily business tasks and duties assigned by the Store Manager or in their absence.
• Maintain Loss Prevention policies and inventory control in partnership with store leadership.
• Support a safe work environment through ongoing safety training and accountability.
