Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing drive-in operations, staffing, and guest service. You will train and coach crew members, carhops, and skating carhops to ensure consistent quality while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

The role requires flexible hours, strong leadership, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, focusing on teamwork, cost control, and delivering the best possible experience for every guest.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry level retail management.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy; multi-task and solve problems.
• Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform and hygiene standards at SONIC.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assigns drive-in restaurant employees to meet operational standards.
• Monitors staffing levels, inventory levels and food cost control; completes weekly inventory.
• Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
• Trains, monitors and coaches Team Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Reinforces a customer service mentality and ensures staff focus on serving customers.
• Responds to guest requests and assists in resolving guest complaints.
• Reports guest complaints to supervisor and aids in resolution.
