Job summary

Potbelly Corporate is hiring an Assistant Manager for our Oak Park shop. You will co-lead the team, train and develop staff, and ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced kitchen and dining area.

Responsibilities include interviewing hires, scheduling, enforcing health and safety standards, managing costs, and driving local marketing. Open availability is preferred; Illinois-specific food safety certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• 2+ years management experience in food service or retail.
• Food safety certification required within 30 days in IL.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage deadlines and schedules on shift.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach and develop associates and shift leaders.
• Interview and hire associates, trainers, and shift leaders.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive shop culture and strong retention.
• Schedule staff and manage labor costs to meet goals.
• Ensure cash handling and daily reconciliations are accurate.
• Drive local promotions and marketing to boost sales.
