Job summary

Ben & Jerry's Mohegan Sun is hiring an Assistant Manager to help run the shop, coach scoopers and shift leads, and ensure a great guest experience. This hands-on role requires leading by example and taking ownership when the Shop Manager is away.

You'll develop your leadership skills through paid training, contribute to performance goals, and have a clear path to managing the shop.

The Opportunity

As an Assistant Manager, you will be a key leader in the shop, helping to run daily operations, coach the team, and make sure every guest has a great experience. This is a hands‑on role where you will lead by example, work side‑by‑side with your team, and take ownership when the Shop Manager is away.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and support scoopers and shift leads so they can deliver great service every shift.
• Oversee daily operations, including cash handling, inventory, scheduling, and opening/closing procedures.
• Set the tone for outstanding guest service and coach the team to handle busy periods with energy and professionalism.
• Support your team’s growth through regular feedback, on‑the‑job training, and positive accountability.
• Assist with community events and shop performance goals, and confidently run the shop when the Shop Manager is away.

What Success Looks Like

• Within your first few months, you can independently run a shift from open to close, maintaining smooth operations and strong guest reviews.
• The team looks to you as a reliable, positive leader who communicates clearly and handles issues before they become problems.
• Shop goals for service, cleanliness, and accuracy are consistently met during your shifts.
• You actively contribute ideas to improve scheduling, training, or operations, and take on more responsibility as you grow toward a Shop Manager role.

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience; food service or retail experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, especially in a fast‑paced environment.
