The University of Virginia in Charlottesville is seeking a Retail Supervisor for the Sabre Shop at the Aquatic Fitness Center. This on-site role oversees student staff, delivers excellent customer service, and drives sales while coordinating daily operations and merchandising standards.
You will create weekly schedules, train and guide staff, manage inventory with the Operations Manager, and ensure a neat, fully stocked store environment. Some evenings, weekends, and events are required.
This position is responsible for providing exemplary customer service, with a focus on driving sales, marketing initiatives, assisting with daily operations, and special events within a retail environment at the Sabre Shop located in the Aquatic Fitness Center.
This supervisory position requires a responsible individual that enjoys interacting with customers and can provide exceptional customer service. Must be able to master cashier and computer functions, stock sales floor, execute merchandising protocols, receive merchandise and transfers, all in accordance with established policies and procedures. Incumbent independently performs opening and closing functions while ensuring all inventory assets are secure. Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings, weekends, football games and swim meets among others.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Up to 4 years of retail experience
At least 2 years of supervisory experience
Microsoft Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook (email)

Work Arrangement: This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
