Job summary

The Tipton Group in Plano, TX is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Technician to join our apartment community. You’ll work with our maintenance team to complete repairs, maintain the property, and help provide a comfortable living environment for residents.

We value dependable, hands-on professionals who take pride in their work. The role includes on-call rotation, safety practices, and opportunities to grow within the company as you develop your maintenance skills and progress toward leadership

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily or apartment maintenance.
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have and be able to use personal maintenance tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple maintenance tasks.
• Available to be on-call for after-hours emergency maintenance.
• HVAC certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily maintenance requests and repairs throughout the apartment community.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.
• Help prepare vacant apartments for new residents by completing necessary repairs and make-ready tasks.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to help keep equipment and building systems operating efficiently.
• Maintain the appearance of the community through grounds upkeep, trash removal, and light landscaping.
• Respond to resident service requests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
• Assist the Lead Maintenance Technician with property inspections, repairs, and other maintenance projects.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies.
• Follow company safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
