Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor:

As an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor, you will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in managing maintenance operations for a multi-family military residential community. Your duties include performing general and specialized maintenance and repairs, operating building systems and equipment, supervising or training maintenance staff, and ensuring quality standards are met. Effective communication, safety, and customer service are essential in this role.

Your Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Performing maintenance, installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance on various building systems and appliances, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and structural components.
  • Planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance staff activities, including service requests, turns, and groundskeeping.
  • Training and developing maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and safety practices.
  • Participating in inspections, safety meetings, and community events.
  • Supporting maintenance coordination with vendors and contractors.
  • Managing departmental budget, projects, and procurement of supplies.
  • Responding to on-call service requests and emergencies.
  • Conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned and operating company or personal vehicles as needed.

Qualifications

What You Need for Success:

  • At least five years of on-site maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Independence and ability to complete assignments within guidelines.
  • Proficiency in basic trades such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and appliance repair.
  • HVAC and EPA certifications preferred.
  • Supervisory or lead experience is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills and basic computer literacy.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles and equipment.
  • Availability for on-call, off-hours, and emergency work, with the ability to respond within 60 minutes.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 65 lbs, perform extensive walking, climbing, and work in various environmental conditions.

Pay Range: $29.00 - $35.00 Hourly
