Job summary

Valiant Residential in Denton, TX is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and keep properties in top condition. You will work with the leasing team to maximize renewals and leasing opportunities while upholding safety-first policies.

The role requires at least two years in apartment maintenance or related trades, a high school diploma, EPA certification, and a valid driver\'s license, with some Spanish helpful.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years full-time experience in apartment maintenance or related trades.
• EPA refrigerant certification required or preferred.
• English communication skills required; Spanish a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools and valid driver\'s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Manage system for handling service requests and on-call rotation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Distribute flyers and materials.
• Maintain safety materials and inspect property for unsafe conditions.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform minor/routine maintenance on equipment; inspect tools.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related systems daily.
• Handle on-call duties and standby emergency coverage.
• Assist in property inspections and other duties as assigned by manager.
