Job summary

Valiant Residential, LLC is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor at our Texas properties. You will help perform routine and preventive maintenance, assist with service requests, and help ensure safety and compliance with company policies.

This full-time role requires at least two years in apartment maintenance or related trades, a HS diploma, a basic tool set, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade.
• Basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant certification; valid driver’s license and driving record.
• Strong verbal and written English; bilingual Spanish a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours whenever possible.
• Implement and manage the system for handling service requests and on-call rotation.
• Adhere to company policies and applicable laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Distribute flyers and materials as needed.
• Keep safety materials current and inspect for unsafe conditions.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform minor routine maintenance; inspect tools.
• Diagnose and perform minor repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related systems.
• Handle on-call duties and standby emergencies as required.
• Assist in preparing property for inspections.
