Job Responsibilities

Responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards, sanitation, cleanliness, and employee training. Key tasks include:

  • Promote and act in accordance with the mission of Burrito Gallery
  • Monitor sanitation practices and ensure compliance with standards and regulations
  • Maintain cleaning schedules for kitchen areas and equipment
  • Check food quality and ensure standards are met
  • Manage food storage and temperature controls
  • Estimate supplies and control food costs
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation and presentation
  • Work with management on menu planning and pricing
  • Supervise food preparation activities
  • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation
  • Schedule staff and manage labor costs
  • Inspect supplies and equipment
  • Order and receive supplies according to standards
  • Develop food presentation and displays
  • Coordinate food operations and planning
  • Analyze recipes and assign menu prices
  • Prepare foods for regular and special occasions
  • Negotiate with suppliers and manage procurement
  • Handle personnel decisions, including hiring and disciplinary actions
  • Oversee employee training and performance appraisals
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
  • Collaborate on menu development considering seasonal ingredients
  • Demonstrate cooking techniques and maintain equipment
  • Engage with guests for special events and feedback
  • Complete reports and attend staff meetings
  • Support team efforts to ensure excellent guest service
