Job summary

Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Los Angeles is seeking an Assistant Director of Human Resources. The role supports the Director of Human Resources in staffing, employment law compliance, wages, benefits, workers' compensation, training, and employee relations.

Bilingual Spanish required; exempt management duties include supervising at least 3 full-time associates and discretion in decision making. Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $102,000 per year.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or related industry; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 2+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Approach all encounters with guests and Associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with standards; schedule varies by hotel needs.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming and wear a name tag as required by brand standards.
• Comply with and ensure adherence to Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain knowledge of HR regulations and laws to ensure property compliance.
• Coordinate and monitor recruitment, screening and reference checks of all non-exempt personnel.
• Recruit, interview and recommend all exempt personnel.
• Assist in developing and maintaining HR budget and associate benefits programs.
