Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to support the Grocery Manager in daily operations, merchandising for maximum productivity and profit, and leading one of the store’s busiest teams.

You will help with hiring, training, and developing staff while ensuring quality products and excellent customer service. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and 1-3 years retail management experience. Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred
• Be dependable and reliable with flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours expected
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal and ability to take and give direction, teamwork
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with positive attitude interacting with customers
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff with working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers and financial goals
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Must lift milk trays up to 60 lbs. vertically for up to 25 hours
• Must lift boxes up to 50 lbs. up to 5 feet for up to 25 hours without assist
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access low points for up to 30 hours

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
• Assist in leading a team to deliver high quality products, service, and customer experience
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Grocery Team
• Unload and sort through store deliveries
• Ensure execution of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ensure others follow them
• Thrive in a fast paced environment and contribute to a winning team
