Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Newark, Delaware seeks an Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager and Executive Chef, providing leadership, direction, and training to team members, coaching performance and maintaining high standards of service, quality, and hospitality.

This role supervises restaurant managers and hourly staff, drives financial performance, oversees scheduling, and leads recruitment while upholding brand standards and a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• 4 years high-volume, full-service restaurant management experience.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Customer service oriented with a focus on hospitality.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to the General Manager and act in their absence.
• Lead and motivate management and hourly team members to ensure excellence in execution.
• Oversee food and beverage operations with the Executive Chef for FIREBAR.
• Forecast, budget, and control costs including food, beverage, and labor.
• Analyze financial reports to identify growth and efficiency opportunities.
• Recruit, interview, and hire staffing to maintain bench strength.
• Ensure adherence to safety, sanitation, and company policies.
• Maintain a positive, team-focused environment and guest engagement.
• Collaborate on community involvement and local store marketing.
