Willow Tree Recruiting is representing a renowned fine dining restaurant in Washington, DC seeking an Assistant General Manager to oversee daily operations and guest experiences. You will lead a front-of-house team, coordinate with culinary leadership, and monitor labor costs to meet budget targets.

The role requires managing schedules, ensuring health and safety compliance, and driving guest satisfaction through data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Manager or AGM in upscale or fine dining.
• Independent worker with proven management skills.

YOUR ROLE WITH THE COMPANY:

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for assisting in overseeing all operations of the restaurant. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Oversee daily operations with a strong focus on providing exceptional guest experiences
• Lead, coach, and inspire front of house team to maintain high service standards
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and service teams
• Manage staff scheduling, shift coverage, and payroll compliance to meet labor cost targets
• Enforce health, safety, and sanitation regulations to ensure compliance with local and state codes
• Handle guest feedback with professionalism, resolving complaints and ensuring repeat patronage
• Analyze performance metrics such as sales reports, labor percentages, and customer satisfaction data to improve efficiency and profitability
• Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the restaurant’s brand values

BACKGROUND PROFILE

• 3+ years of experience as a Manager or AGM with a $4M+ upscale or fine dining restaurant
• Must be an independent worker and possess proven management skills
• Knoweldgeable about how to manage labor and food costs
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Passionate, energetic, detail oriented, and a passion for hospitality
• Must be quick to learn, flexible, and comfortable adapting in a fast-changing environment
• Able to pivot swiftly and embrace new challenges with a learning mindset
