Harper Associates Llc is seeking an Assistant General Manager for a high-volume restaurant and bar within an upscale hotel in Detroit. The candidate will lead daily operations, coach front-of-house teams, and drive outstanding guest experiences.

The role emphasizes financial discipline, staff development, and cross-functional collaboration with culinary and beverage teams. A hands-on leader ready to coach, train, and manage resources is ideal.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in restaurant or hotel management at AGMs or higher.
• Experience in upscale dining, hotels, resorts, or high-volume hospitality.
• Knowledge of both restaurant and bar operations.
• Experience managing financials, labor, inventory, and cost controls.
• Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for hospitality and memorable guest experiences.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of restaurant or hotel management experience, including leadership at the Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Food & Beverage Manager level.
• Strong background in upscale dining, hotels, resorts, or high-volume hospitality operations.
• Well-rounded knowledge of both restaurant and bar operations.
• Experience managing financial performance, labor, inventory, and cost controls.
• Proven ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
