Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead and develop the restaurant team, ensuring high standards of service and operations. You will supervise crew, carhops and management staff, plan staffing, manage inventories, and drive sales with action plans and marketing initiatives.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced studies in business, restaurant management or related fields preferred.
• Minimum of two years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
• Must work a minimum 5 day workweek with 4 closing shifts (or 4 day workweek guaranteed) including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations.
• Leadership and supervisory practices; effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic accounting and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Crew/Team members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Directs and assigns drive-in restaurant employees to meet operating standards.
• Adheres to and enforces employee handbook policies.
• Performs opening and/or closing duties.
• Prepares work schedules and adjusts staffing as needed.
• Monitors inventory and places orders within cost controls.
• Maintains payroll and employment records.
• Fosters customer service focus and resolves guest requests promptly.
• Interviews and hires staff to achieve staffing levels.
• Prepares operational reports and action plans to address sales trends.
• Develops and implements a marketing plan.
