Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a beloved neighborhood bakery-cafe to sweet success. You will partner with the General Manager to oversee operations, hire, train, and develop the team, and ensure exceptional guest service every day.

You will manage staffing, performance, and costs while promoting Panera’s guiding values. The role requires flexible hours, strong business acumen, and a passion for people development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age at least 18 years.
• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.
• Proven availability to run great shifts while directing, motivating, coaching and developing others.
• Role requires flexible hours including nights and weekends.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Lead bakery-cafe team and partner with the General Manager to oversee operations.
• Plan staffing, shift scheduling, people development, and succession planning.
• Hire, on-board, and train new team members while motivating and celebrating the team.
• Manage team performance to meet goals, service standards, and guest satisfaction.
• Develop managers on Panera’s values and behaviors with the GM.
• Ensure guests are delighted by food quality and service and foster a loyal guest base.
