Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a beloved neighborhood bakery-cafe. You will inspire the team, partner with the General Manager on operations, and own hiring, training, and development at your location.

You will drive guest satisfaction, manage costs and inventory, and ensure high standards of service in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.
• Proven ability to run shifts while directing, motivating, coaching and developing others.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends in a fast-paced environment.
• Background check required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for up to 6 hours.

Responsibilities

• Support General Manager by making key decisions and solving problems.
• Plan staffing needs, shift scheduling, and people development.
• Hire, onboard, train, and motivate team members.
• Manage costs and inventory to meet bakery-cafe goals.
• Ensure guests receive extraordinary service and quality.
• Develop managers in people processes and Panera values.
• Foster teamwork and guest satisfaction across daily operations.
• Follow procedures to execute company strategies and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
