Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and Texas Bar admission.
  • 3 to 5 years of law firm or in-house legal experience, preferably in maritime, construction or asset-intensive business.
  • Proven operator in a fast-paced, team environment and able to act as a lead as required.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Highest ethical standards and behavior.
  • Excellent business judgment, leadership and delivery-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with a wide range of projects and activities and internal legal functions, focusing on contracting and commercial support.
  • Provide support on domestic and international project contracts prior to tender, with other attorneys and contract manager.
  • Analyze legal issues related to federal, state and local government contracts, and private contracts.
  • Provide regulatory compliance support.
  • Advise regarding Federal Acquisition Regulation clauses related to contracts and operations.
  • Assist with tender and prequalification documents.
  • Draft and negotiate complex project and finance documentation.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts for services, equipment, leases, and other commercial agreements.
  • Identify and analyze potential legal claims and advise with business stakeholders to reduce litigation exposure.
  • Manage commercial disputes with subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree
J.D. from ABA-accredited law school
