NYK Group Americas Inc. seeks a talented Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of legal experience, with a strong interest in the maritime industry (experience preferred but not required).

The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support across various business functions, focusing on contract review, compliance, and governance matters. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting both domestic and international

Qualifikationen

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar or eligibility for NJ in-house counsel.
• 2–5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in corporate law or commercial contracts.
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maritime industry experience is preferred but not required.

Aufgaben

• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts including NDAs, customer service agreements, vendor contracts, and leases.
• Collaborate with outside counsel on legal matters.
• Support business divisions in day-to-day commercial transactions.
• Assist with governance, risk assessment, and compliance programs.
• Conduct compliance training across departments.
• Provide legal guidance on maritime regulations when applicable.
• Maintain organized records and update contract templates and policies.
• Monitor changes in laws affecting the company.
